If you apologize sincerley to someone shouldn't they accept it ?
i was raised that if someone sincerely apologizes then the only decent thing to do is accept it. a friend of mine and i had a falling out recently and hurtful things were said on both sides.
i owned it, manned up and apologized even though she only gave a half hearted apology, yet she still says that she doesn't want my friendship.
what else can i do?
i care about them but i really do not know what else to do, i am at a loss.

you did the right thing,. They're probably doing u a favor bc they don't sound like the type of friend that will stick around and be true anyway, obviously.
it is good that you honestly apologize but seems pain created by your act requires some time to heal.
wait and see...or explain once again that you do not afford to loose them.
But under no reasons...you should think and apology MUST gain forgiveness.
It's happened to me a lot. Yes, it's true that if someone sincerely apologizes, you should accept it... but remember that everyone is different and does not just forgive and let things go back to the way they were in the blink of an eye. Give her some time, I'm sure she'll run back to you eventually :]
some people have a difficult time accepting apologies as well as others. Must have been a pretty bad argument/falling out. Anyway, it sounds like she was never completely as sorry as you because she hesitated in her apology so secretly that means she doesn't feel she was wrong in the first place. Just give it some time, maybe in a few weeks maybe months the whole thing will blow over.
there isn't anything you can do. While accepting someones apology is morally standard, it isn't something everybody follows. The only thing you can do is hope time will help them come around.
