my 16 year old son wants the new GTA game. i have read reviews about it, it has a lot of profanity, violence, and sex. i asked my wife if she cared if i got it for him and she said that it was my decision. women, would you be offended in anyway by this game? i feel my son is mature enough for this game, but i don't know if some of the material will offend my wife. any thoughts?

I am a 30 year old female, married with a 4 year old daughter. I am saddened by GTA. I really, really want to play it but it didn't come out on PS2, which is what I have.
I LOVE GTA! If you think that your kid is old enough to understand that in real life you don't go running around shooting people, stealing cop cars, punching in codes to make a tank appear, or slapping hos then taking their money then I think that it will be fine. If your boy understands that it is just a game then your wife should too.
If you think that it would confuse him (because really, it is way fun to drive around shooting random people or running them over - in the game that is) then I would have him wait a bit. Then you wouldn't have to worry about offending your wifey pooh.
Thx a lot for your answer, it's really cool you can find people willing to help you without any hidden purpose.
BTW I am a single parent at the moment :) and I'm struggling to give my son a proper education.
I guess you are right I do trust my son and i think he is old enough to distinguish between real life a video game
